On-site assessment
We walk the slab, map every crack, measure settlement, test thickness, and identify root cause. You get a written diagnosis with repair vs. replace pricing, usually same day.
Redding's extreme heat, intense UV, and expansive clay soils are the toughest combination for concrete in Northern California. If your driveway, patio, sidewalk, or pool deck is cracking, settling, or flaking, we diagnose the root cause and fix it right the first time, so you don't pay twice.
Not every damaged slab needs to come out. In fact, roughly 60% of the concrete problems we see in Shasta County can be repaired for a fraction of replacement cost, if the repair is done with the right materials and methods for our climate. Here is what we handle:
Redding sits in the northern Sacramento Valley where summer highs regularly exceed 100°F, surface temperatures on exposed concrete can reach 140°F, and the sun delivers some of the highest UV intensity in California. That environment creates four specific failure patterns:
We walk the slab, map every crack, measure settlement, test thickness, and identify root cause. You get a written diagnosis with repair vs. replace pricing, usually same day.
Damaged material is routed, ground, or chipped out. Joints are cleaned to sound concrete. Surfaces are pressure-washed and profiled for overlay adhesion. We prep for the repair to bond permanently, not just cover cosmetically.
Cracks are filled with flexible polyurethane. Settled slabs are lifted with injected foam. Damaged surfaces get polymer overlays. Every material is selected for Redding's heat and UV, not generic off-the-shelf products.
Penetrating silane/siloxane sealer is applied to the entire repaired area. We walk the job with you, explain maintenance, and back the work with our warranty.
Below are the repair methods we use most in Redding, with approximate pricing. Every project gets an exact written quote after the on-site assessment.
| Repair type | Method | Best for | Est. cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crack sealing | Route & fill, polyurethane | Cracks < 1/4" wide | $3–$8 / linear ft |
| Slab-jacking | Polyurethane foam injection | Settled slabs, 1–3" drop | $5–$15 / sq ft |
| Resurfacing | Polymer-modified overlay | Spalling, pitting, UV damage | $4–$8 / sq ft |
| Joint sealing | Backer rod + polyurethane | Failed control/expansion joints | $2–$5 / linear ft |
| Root damage | Panel replacement or grinding | Tree root heaving > 1" | $8–$15 / sq ft (panel) |
Pricing reflects 2025 Redding market. Access, slab condition, and scope affect final cost. Estimates are always free.
We don't use the same products a contractor in San Francisco or Portland would use. Redding's extremes demand specific materials:
We always give you both options with pricing. Here's the general decision framework we use on every assessment:
When replacement is the right call, we handle the full scope: sawcutting, demolition, and haul-off, followed by proper base prep and a new pour built for Redding's conditions.
"Our driveway had cracks everywhere after two brutal summers. They routed and sealed every crack, applied an overlay, and it looks brand new. Saved us thousands compared to a full tear-out."Karen L.Enterprise · Driveway crack repair
"The patio slab had settled almost 2 inches from the clay soil. They foam-jacked it level in one morning and it hasn't moved since. Incredible technology."Tom R.Tierra Oaks · Patio leveling
"Our pool deck was spalling and burning feet every summer. They resurfaced it with a cool-tone overlay and sealed it. The kids walk barefoot again. Should have called two years ago."Lisa M.Lake Redding · Pool deck resurfacing
If cracks are narrower than 1/4 inch, settlement is under 1 inch, and less than 30% of the surface is damaged, repair is usually the right call. Once cracks show vertical displacement, the slab is under 3.5 inches thick, or damage covers more than a third of the area, replacement is more cost-effective long-term. We assess every slab on-site and give you both options with pricing.
Crack repair runs $3 to $8 per linear foot. Slab-jacking costs $5 to $15 per square foot, roughly 30 to 60% less than a full tear-out and re-pour. Resurfacing with a polymer overlay runs $4 to $8 per square foot. Full replacement typically starts around $8 to $12 per square foot including demo and haul-off.
Properly done repairs last 8 to 15 years in Redding's climate. Polyurethane crack fills and polymer overlays are flexible enough to handle thermal expansion from our 100-plus degree summers. Rigid epoxy fills can re-crack in extreme heat, which is why we use flexible polyurethane and polymer materials on most Redding repairs.
Yes. Heat cracks caused by thermal expansion are one of the most common repairs we do in Redding. For cracks under 1/4 inch we route and fill with flexible polyurethane sealant. For wider cracks or pattern cracking we may recommend a polymer overlay that bridges the cracks and provides a new wearing surface with built-in flexibility.
Yes. Pool deck repair is one of our most requested services. We fix cracks, resurface spalled or UV-damaged surfaces, level settled sections, and apply cool-deck coatings or textured overlays. Every pool deck repair includes proper drainage slope away from the pool and a slip-resistant finish.
Sawcut, demo, base prep, and haul-off when repair isn't enough.
